Learning Evaluations Enhance Ability to Measure Impact And Value of Learning Programs

ESI Partners with KnowledgeAdvisors

Arlington, VA - May 4, 2010

A new partnership between ESI International and KnowledgeAdvisors to provide KnowledgeAdvisors Metrics that Matter® learning assessments to all corporate, government, non-profit and individual ESI clients worldwide will greatly enhance their ability to measure the impact and value of learning programs. Metrics that Matter provides easy, online access to actionable evaluation data through advanced analytics, intuitive reports and benchmarks.

“It’s more important than ever to demonstrate learning program effectiveness,” said John Elsey, President & CEO, ESI, “this partnership will make that often difficult task very easy for all our clients.”

Immediately following a learning event, participants evaluate the learning experience and its applicability to their work, while instructors complete evaluations focused on the students, learning materials and environment. Follow-up evaluations are conducted 60- to 90-days later, again asking learning participants about the effectiveness of what they learned, as well as job impact. Additional insights can be gained by implementing the optional managers’ evaluations, which ask supervisors about the value of the learning on individual and departmental performance. Both follow up evaluations focus on demonstrating learning program effectiveness.

Data can then be viewed via one of the more than 100 Metrics that Matter reports. By gathering data related to behavior change and business results, reports demonstrate how well students have applied what they learned and its impact on the organization. Most reports also include benchmarks from KnowledgeAdvisors’ database of more than 750 million data points that can be segmented by industry, course type, job function and more to provide real world comparisons.

“Metrics that Matters has proven enormously beneficial to our clients,” said Kent Barnett, CEO, KnowledgeAdvisors. “We look forward to helping ESI clients benefit through more effective learning programs and a clear demonstration of the value of learning to senior management.”
