Training Solutions for Federal Acquisition Certification (FAC) Programs
Building a capable workforce is more challenging than building capacity. A consistent approach, supported by management, to developing and supporting PM principles and practices will improve results. Agency executives should assess, implement, and measure an integrated and comprehensive training program, while not forgetting to reform and improve the processes and tools used by those involved in improving acquisition outcomes.
The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) and the Office of Federal Procurement Policy (OFPP), together with the Federal Acquisition Institute (FAI), have recognized the need to define the competencies and skills required for those performing acquisition-related work in civilian agencies, and have established certification programs for Contracting (FAC-C), Contracting Officer's Representatives (COR), and Program and Project Managers (FAC-P/PM). Each program includes education, training, and experience requirements.
Strategy Execution developed a comprehensive suite of FAC courses and training services that can help government employees earn and maintain their certifications for each program:
- Federal Acquisition Certification for Project and Program Managers (FAC-P/PM): Our FAC-P/PM Curriculum is principally tailored to meet OFPP’s requirements and is wholly inclusive of the Government’s learning objectives. It teaches government-specific practices, procedures, and policies, it is fully FAI-verified, and is 100% compliant with the learning objectives expressed in the OFPP policy.
- Contracting Officer's Representative (COR): Our COR solution provides CORs with the knowledge, skills, and tools to manage vendor performance and projects for successful outcomes.
- Continuous Learning Points/Electives in Contracting (CLP): The FAC-C/CLP courses will enhance any professional development program with topical content designed to improve knowledge and skills needed to improve results along all stages of an acquisition life cycle.
