Will Help Professionals Worldwide Prepare for PMI’s PgMP Certification Exam
Arlington, VA - April 21, 2008
ESI International today announced the launch of its PgMPSM Exam Preparation course. The course, which is part of ESI’s new Program Management Professional Development Program, is designed to help professionals prepare for the Project Management Institute’s (PMI®) Program Management Professional (PgMPSM) certification exam.
“This new course will help anyone seeking PgMPSM certification,” says J. LeRoy Ward, PgMP, PMP, ESI’s Executive Vice President. “Participants will become familiar with the types of questions on the exam and gain a solid understanding of PMI’s perspective on how program management is conducted. This includes the phases of a program and the three all-important themes of program management: benefits management, stakeholder management and governance management.”
The course, which is facilitated by a certified PgMPSM instructor, is designed to be taken by professionals who already understand the principles of program management and are preparing for their certification exam. A key focus of the course is to ensure the terminology, practices and approaches used by professionals in their day-to-day work map to the exam, which is centered on the PMI’s The Standard for Program Management.
Participants will receive ESI’s new PgMPSM Exam: Practice Test and Study Guide, featuring hundreds of sample questions and answers compiled by certified Program Management Professionals with first-hand experience taking the PgMPSM exam. The study guide is available through ESI’s Publications store on our Web site. The course was architected by Ward, who is one of the first professionals worldwide to hold both the PgMPSM and PMP® certifications. The study guide was co-authored by Ward and Ginger Levin, DPA, PgMP, PMP, a world-renowned project management consultant and a member of the adjunct faculty of the University of Wisconsin, Platteville, WI.
Classes are available both online and in the classroom.
